Paris Hilton’s debut album will be released on August 22.
The star’s self-titled LP will hit the shelves two weeks later than previously announced and is being tipped to be a worldwide hit.
The first single from the album, ‘Stars Are Blind’, is currently No 16 in America’s Billboard Pop 100 chart.
The song is not released in the UK until July 31 but it is already enjoying widespread airplay on radio and the accompanying video is one of the most requested on MTV.
Producer Scott Storch said: “She has a certain tone that’s reminiscent of Cyndi Lauper and Blondie. The album doesn’t have one particular sound. It’s just good music – a combination of R+B, hip-hop and pop. It will surprise a lot of people because there’s real artistry coming from Paris.”
Paris worked with a host of top songwriters on the album including Kara DioGuardi, who has collaborated with Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera, and Billy Steinberg, who has penned hits for Madonna and Cyndi Lauper in the past.
