Two of Korea’s biggest directors plan to work on new films early next year. Kim Ki-duk will tackle his 14th film entitled Breath, while Kim Jee-woon will helm the tentatively titled The Good, the Bad, and the Weird.
Breath follows the friendship of a death row inmate and a woman with an unfaithful husband. As usual, the film is said to have little to no dialogue.
The Good, the Bad, and the Weird, is a western set on the plains of Manchuria with a cast lead by Song Kang-ho. The shooting will begin in the spring and span through China, Mongolia and Russia. The film is said to be his most commercially accessible work to date.
Look for both films to hopefully see the light of day by the end of 2007.
