Set in the 1930s in the eastern metropolis of Shanghai, the film sheds light on gang conflicts, and also contains a lot of spice with relationships between gangsters and dancers.
The movie’s director Chen Yili is a first time director. He revealed that he was greatly inspired by John Woo’s film “Bullet in the Head,” made in 1990.
