Japan very much alive during Golden Globe Nominations

It was a pretty good day today for Japan when the Golden Globes were announced earlier this morning.

While none of the cast of Letters from Iwo Jima was honored the film did pick up nominations for both Best Foreign Language Film and Best Director.

In the running for Best Supporting Actress is model turned actress Rinko Kikuchi for her role in the ensemble piece Babel.

Japan even made their presence known this year in the television choices with Heroes star Masi Oka receiving a nomination in the Best Supporting Role in a Series category.

The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast January 15th on NBC at 8pm EST.
